Our log fires are stacked and ready for use from early May until the October long weekend. These times may vary depending on the weather.

Each Pavilion has a Nespresso Crestia automatic coffee machine with a supply of capsules. A selection of Twinings teas are also included.

Privacy is paramount. Our Pavilions are spaced apart for seclusion, with screened pools/decks and no passing traffic, you can hear yourself think!

- Pure luxury in spectacular surroundings If you are looking for a luxurious escape (close to Sydney) put Wild Edge on your list of things to do. The pavilions are beautiful (I have stayed in Nature's Mist & Wind Spirit), the owner Alan is a lovely man who goes the extra mile to make your stay special and I will definitely go back. I highly recommend getting the dining options. I have ordered the Seafood platter, the BBQ platter and the fruit/choc fondue. - Amazing!!! A perfect weekend for a special occasion! My husband surprised me with a 2 night stay for our first wedding anniversary weekend and it could not have been more perfect!!! Wild Edge retreat is in Wollombi. After driving for approx 2 kms on unsealed road we made it. Wild Edge retreat is a hidden gem where you feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. With only 4 private villas it is perfect for a couples getaway. Make sure you pack some food as you will not want to leave. We bought an esky with us with all the makings of a cheese platter and it was the perfect setting to sit on the deck and watch the sun set while sipping on wine and having a cheese platter. Breakfast was included and we cooked this is the fully equiped kitchen! Andrew was the perfect host so helpful. On the Saturday night we went to the hunter for dinner and on return my husband has organised candles, roses and champagne. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen!!! We booked online and when Emma contacted us by phone I asked a few questions and told her we were staying here for a little honeymoon! We arrived 2 days after our wedding and were greeted by Emma in the golf cart to collect our belongings to take us to our pavilion, The Wind Spirit!! First little personal detail I noticed was the "Just Married" sign on the back of the cart!! When we arrived at the pavilion, when we opened the door the aircon was on the room smelt amazing! We were greeted with a bottle of champagne and a personal note from Emma and Mick which I have kept for my wedding box and again some "Just married" signs in our room!! Our pavilion was incredibly clean! It had the feeling that we had been the first to stay there (which were obviously not) which in my opinion is the level of cleanliness you want! I had read the emails when we booked and all the info on the website and when I jumped online and read some reviews it is very clearly noted 1. The driveway can be rough! It was actually not as bad as I was expecting and noticed that it was better in some parts then the tar on the main roads! 2. Get your groceries on the way out because it is not a resort! We did drop into Cessnock on the way and grabbed some supplies, although we did go out almost everyday and have a look around but if you don't want to have to leave, it is very obvious to grab it on the way! We were on our way out one morning to go for a little drive and grab some breakfast when we ran into Mick he suggested a little cafe in Laguna!! It was perfect, thanks Mick!! The pavilion has everything you need and more! It has all top of the range appliances! We got the seafood platter and I cannot recommend it more! It was some of the best seafood I have ever had! It was so fresh! It was the perfect honeymoon waking up to the birds every morning! We stayed 4 nights, 5 days! The pool, the spa, the robes and the movies in bed! It couldn't have been better! We loved our stay so much that we returned in 2018 to find new hosts and some new additions which elevated our stay even more! When we arrived for check-in, the gates opened before we pressed the intercom button and, before we had even parked, we could see the golf cart coming out from Reception to greet us. Emma hopped off and introduced herself, making us feel so welcome, as she helped us unload the car. As it was nearing 40 degrees, she wanted to get us to our pavilion as quickly as possible and we could not believe the thought and care that went into our arrival; air-con was already cooling the property, candles had been lit + fragrance oil was diffusing, a bottle of bubbles was on ice with a lovely 'welcome back' card, the fridge and cupboards were stocked - everything was immaculate. Emma walked us through the need-to knows before reminding us they were only a phone call away, then left us to unpack and settle in. We opted to stay in Wind Spirit this time around and it surpassed our already high expectations. The views from the pavilion, spa bath, balcony, and infinity pool are spectacular. Seeing the valley change throughout the day, especially at sunrise and sunset, is beautiful. The infinity pool was our main reason for booking a mid-summer getaway and we swam at least five times a day. From first thing in the morning to after the stars came out at night, the solar-heated pool ensured that we were never too chilly in the water. My favourite time was just before sunset - the valley looks like a postcard and we even saw a family of kangaroos hop by on our last night! The unsealed road to the property is a little bit of an adventure for our 2WD but the work done since we last stayed has definitely improved the drive up from Wollombi town centre. The coffee machine + selection of pods is excellent and the juicer + oranges meant I enjoyed fresh OJ every morning for breakfast. The Wi-Fi, cable television, barbecue, and new bathroom products were all excellent touches and we made use of it all. We stayed for three nights but I could have honestly stayed a week, it was SO relaxing, tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. The hosts have done wonderfully in their transition, they put such care and consideration into the property and their attention to detail meant that we wanted for nothing for our entire stay. - Heaven on Earth Travelling a long distance and driving through the dirt and narrow road is pretty hard. But once you drive up to the retreat that's where you were see the most beautiful nature view that god created. I call "Heaven on Earth". I love everything about this place the beautiful room, pool, tub, scenery, smell of nature breeze, essential oil, relaxing music, ruby the dog , deck, day-bed, fireplace, kitchen and the staff. 2nights was short i wish i could stay there forever 💜. Me and my partner have the most quality time together no wifi, no phone or disturb n also no social media time for us. - Absolutely amazing place, highly reccomend it to everyone. My partner and I were looking for somewhere to spend a romantic weekend away for his birthday. Wild edge were so helpful, they made him a birthday cake, allowed me to get balloons delivered, then they personally delivered them to our room and even sang him happy birthday! There's too much to say and all good - we were greeted with warm smiles, given a brief yet informative tour and made to feel right at home, right away. The log fire burned for almost our entire stay and kept us warm well into the night. We spent two nights for our wedding anniversary. Spacious, immaculately clean and tastefully decorated with nice touches of attention to detail. Enormous deck. Even the drive up to the lodge adds to the enjoyment as you wind up the unsealed road to the top, making it feel even more remote, yet you are just a few minutes drive to everything you need in the cute town of Wollombi. If you drive from Sydney, taking the exit at Peats Ridge is a joy to drive, though lovely winding roads and beautiful countryside. - Tranquility! Relaxing! Perfect! Clean! Amazing! We were booked for three nights at another tourist retreat in the Hunter, but after two nights we couldn't face a third. We were driving through Wollombi when we saw the Wild Edge Retreat sign and decided to drive up the road to see if they had availability. Fortunately there was one Pavilion available. - A True Retreat From Start to Finish, the experience at Wild Edge was amazing, we were contacted by Andrew on the morning of the day of our arrival to ensure we knew how to find the place and were given some helpful hints about what to bring. Arriving and making the short walk to reception we were blown away by the view and the grounds. Andrew greeted us with a warm and friendly welcome and we were then taken with our luggage to our Pavilion by buggy along the board walk that connects the pavilions with reception and the car park. The Pavilion was perfect, tastefully decorated, well appointed with attention to detail that would put many 5 star hotels to shame. The cleanliness was flawless, and lots of thoughtful touches included, not least the generous breakfast provisions. Andrew gave us a run through in how to operate everything, including the ready to light fireplace that was backed up with plenty of wood to keep it going. Some relaxation music was already playing on the Bose sound system and it did not take long to unwind, we spent the rest of the afternoon on the ample verandah relaxing on the day bed and soaking up the winter sun,enjoying the breathtaking view, whilst sheltered from the light breeze by the privacy screens at each end of the verandah. As the sun went down we moved inside to the comfy lounge to enjoy a drop from the Wollombi Vineyard, which is close to the turn off to Wilde Edge , we took advantage of the wide selection of Foxtel programs , complemented by the extensive library of free DVD's available at reception. The two person Spa bath is a treat, get in before the sun goes down to admire the view whilst you relax, alternately you can use the Rain shower head in the large shower cubical that features a frame less screen so as not to interrupt the view ( there is a full down roll down curtain if you don't want the birds looking at you). The bed was super comfortable, I believe no matter how great a room is, if the bed is bad the whole stay is bad, this bed was great, as were the pillows .... we slept like babies and the roll down curtains did a great job of allowing us a sleep in. The view in the morning was special with low fog concealing the valley below, birds fluttering about the verandah as we enjoyed our hot breakfast and watch the fog burn off to reveal the valley below . After a short trip to town to collect a paper and some lunch provisions the rest of the day was spent much like the first, just relaxing in the quietness and complete privacy soaking up the winter sun and wishing we never had to return to the world. Beautiful rural location, amazing views, awesome pavilion with high-end finish, and excellent service. The free breakfast provisions consisted of high quality local produce - really delicious. Guests have access (no charge) to a 180+ film DVD library in reception which is great if you like watching movies. The free wifi was good too. The only thing to watch out for is that mobile phone reception is poor at Wild Edge (Telstra was ok; no signal for Vodafone) although pavilions have a landline phone. - 25th Birthday Surprise I was treated to a beautiful weekend away for my 25th birthday. I was grinning from ear to ear the moment we reached the red entry gates. And it never stopped. - Does it get any better than this? My partner & I recently enjoyed a 3 night stay in the Wind Spirit pavilion. Wow, what a great experience. The pavilion had every creature comfort, was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and completely private. The infinity pool was the big winner, it was simply stunning. The view from the balcony was something else. The vista was mesmerising with views of rolling bushland in the foreground peppered with bountiful birdlife and the odd kangaroo hopping around, to distant mountain ridges at the horizon. Nothing was too difficult for our host Alan, he was helpful and very informative about the regions attractions. I would highly recommend Wild Edge Retreat and will be looking forward to a return visit in the not too distant future. My wife and I have recently spent 5 glorious nights of our honeymoon at Wild Edge Retreat and wow, what a place!! I had called an hour out from arrival just to ensure that all was in order for my beautiful wife and the serious romancing which was about to get underway. It was 8pm in the evening and after a slow, seriously dark and dirty trek up the mountain (albeit that this should be expected in the country), we arrived through the gates only to be happily greeted by Alan. Our luggage was loaded aboard a golf buggy and we were then driven a short distance to our luxurious pavilion . Upon entering said pavilion, we were warmly welcomed to the prearranged candles which spread throughout the entire clean, romantic and warmly designed apartment. The apartment itself ( we stayed in Natures Mist) sits high above a valley, looking down over some distant farm land and cattle. There wasn't a person, car, sound or anything else that could have possibly distracted us from our relaxing and harmonious stay. It was total bliss. The bed was a total delight. The pillows were perfect with sheets and a quilt to match... I did however forget to take note and/or ask for the brand and type of pillows! Rookie error for a newlywed I suppose. The attention to detail throughout the place was amazing. We didn't need anything else as the kitchen was fully contained with all utensils and cooking equipment that we required. There was a bbq on the deck which was perfect for us to cook our meats that we bought locally. My wife and I also managed (thanks to great weather) to cook the scrumptious breakfast provisions (that were provided to us daily) on the bbq. The sausages are a must! With respect to the grounds, the staff have done a wonderful job. The gardens are filled with native flowers and plants and are on show via the boardwalks throughout. We managed to catch several cute little wombats getting about along with some possums and amazing birds. The retreat is about 20 mins from the Wollombi Wines vineyard and about 25 from Stonehurst. We had the pleasure of visiting both and there were some cracking wines on offer. In terms of "to do", it is a retreat after all so definitely don't be expecting anything outrageous or on the wilder side of things otherwise be prepared to be disappointed. My advice would be to ensure that you go with great company! Overall, we would say that this place is definitely special. It's exactly what we could have wanted and more, and for the reasonable price tag, it far surpasses most if not all of the high end hotels you would find in a major city. We will be back for sure!
