Each Pavilion has a fully equipped kitchenette with a ceramic cooktop, microwave oven, full-size fridge, electric frypan, juicer, toaster and dishwasher.

Our log fires are stacked and ready for use from early May until the October long weekend. These times may vary depending on the weather.
Nespresso and Twinings
All Pavilions have a Nespresso Creatista automatic coffee machine with a supply of capsules. A selection of Twinings teas are also provided.

Privacy is paramount. Our Pavilions are spaced apart for seclusion, with screened pools/decks and no passing traffic, you can hear yourself think!

The photos don't do justice to the reality ... the place is faultless. Lovely manicured grounds in a haven of peace and tranquility. The pavilions are private, large, comfortable, elegant and beautifully appointed. They have a fully equipped kitchen and the fridge was filled with an incredibly varied selection of breakfast foods, enough to feed the most voracious of eaters. The bed is large and comfortable with great pillows. A large terrace with outdoor bed and bar-b-que runs the length of the pavilion and has panoramic views across the valley beow. I surprised my friend for his birthday with a 2-day stay in the Whispering Forest Pavilion. What a treat it was !! The drive up to the property offers expansive views of the area. We were lucky to drive just before sundown and enjoyed a very pleasant sunset on our way up. Alan welcomed us at the gate and took us through everything we needed to know about our stay and Wollombi. This and the fact that there are only 4 pavilions on the property made us feel very special. The Whispering Forest Pavilion has the most well-thought and modern interior design i have come across so far and it definitely made us feel we were the luckiest people in the world! everything is so carefully thought of, it makes it hard to leave even to discover the town of Wollombi (which you should definitely do too) Overall the most enjoyable and breathtaking experience in a very long while. I had a little query re laundry, sent a message via their website and promptly got a response via email. Apart from the confirmation email received upon booking, there is another email that was sent a week prior to our stay containing all pertinent information including driving instructions.A portion of the road leading up to the retreat location was unsealed. Thus, the drive up there was quite rough and uncomfortable. Nothing unexpected as this was clearly noted on the email. But upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Emma, we heard the chirping of the birds and saw how beautiful the place is, so we thought it was all worth it.Our pavilion (Earth Song) was well-stocked and is extremely clean. We were greeted with some lovely tealight candles, a sweet little birthday cake for my husband, a personalized welcome letter with a beautiful relaxing music on the background. The breakfast provisions were extremely generous (see photos) and we loved the little snacks provided as well that went perfectly with our coffee/tea. My personal favorite was the Citrus Press! I love my OJ freshly squeezed for me for breakfast!The picturesque view from the deck accompanied with the soft chirping of the birds was just the lovely break that we needed from our usual daily routine. We loved soaking ourselves in the warm pool and how we ended our day with a nice warm spa bath.Overall, I think it’s the little personal touches all throughout our stay that made this one particularly stood out from all the rest we’ve had before. From Emma personally greeting us when we arrived helping us with our stuff, the personalized letter, the little cake, setting the mood in the room (candles, music) for when we arrive, the little notes reminding us to just call when we need anything or extra provision, up to the recommendations on where to stop on the way back home!I cannot thank you enough Emma & Mick for helping me make this staycation a truly special and memorable one for my husband! We just cannot wait to be back!TIPS:- Albeit breakfast provisions were extremely generous, bring enough food & bev items that’ll last for the duration of your stay as there are no shops within walking distance to the retreat. Nearest grocery as per the pre-stay email is 35mins drive from there.- There is no laundry facility onsite so it’s helpful to bring a laundry bag for used clothes- No need to bring anything to fully enjoy the spa bath. I actually bought a lush bubble bar but apparently, I can’t use it there. That wasn’t a problem though because a beautiful bath bag infusion, as well as some bath foam is already provided. - Utter bliss and best sleep ever What a treat - If you're looking for a premium stay in the hunter that will leave you wanting more, then this is the place for you. We stayed for one night only in Wispering Forest over the Easter break. Firstly it was great to find a place that tool bookings for 1 night only during Easter - that's actually how we found it, by filtering on Wot If. Not the cheapest place available in the hunter, but what a difference from all the other options. This place is no hotel. There are no communal areas, and you don't even have to share your view with anyone else! Uninterrupted bliss. When we arrived in the afternoon we were warmly welcomed by the owner, who have us a very nice introduction to Wild Edge and our Spa Pavillion. The balance was just right - enough information to enable us to enjoy our stay, without it being overpowering or intrusive in any way. Very friendly and personable. From then we were left to our own devices to enjoy the tranquility. The Pavillion was extremely well appointed - it looked like it had been recently renovated. The bed was so comfortable - best night's sleep we've had in ages! The breakfast provisions were excellent - everything we needed to set ourselves up for the day. The road leading up to Wild Edge is a dirt road, quite steep in places, although we were in a VW Golf with 2 bikes on the roof and had no problems whatsoever. Beautiful rural location, amazing views, awesome pavilion with high-end finish, and excellent service. The free breakfast provisions consisted of high quality local produce - really delicious. Guests have access (no charge) to a 180+ film DVD library in reception which is great if you like watching movies. The free wifi was good too. The only thing to watch out for is that mobile phone reception is poor at Wild Edge (Telstra was ok; no signal for Vodafone) although pavilions have a landline phone. - Luxury in the wollombi bush My hubby surprised me with a 3 night stay at wild edge retreat, The Natures Mist pavillion. I had mentioned this place a few times and bless my hubby, he actually remembered. After 3 years of no holiday, we were definitely due for a little break. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. I am bad with names so do apologize, the daughters father peter(?), was very nice to us (daughter and son in law (owners) were on holdidays and mother and father were house sitting). After having our luggage and ourselves taken to the pavillion in a buggy which was pretty cool. We were greeted by sandy (again sorry if name is wrong) who was so lovely and friendly. Sandy showed us how it all works and left us to relax. The views were gorgeous. We loved it. We actually saw a lyar bird which we thought was pretty amazing as we had never seen one in the wild before. The pavillion was very clean. I could not fault it. The pool was refreshing and the day bed is such a nice spot to relax after a dip. The sunlounges were comfortable. We liked the rustic look of the outdoor tables and chairs and seats were comfy, wide enough. We loved the coffee machine, so much we will be buying one. We did use the big coffee mugs and realised we should have used the little ones. Was not a bother for them at all to bring us more milk though. They also bought us more bacon, and dvds. The bath inside is very big and accomodating for a larger person which is nice. We had 2 baths in our 3 nights stay. We loved it. We loved the shower it had great pressure. Plenty of provisions like a variety of jams, fresh oranges for making juice ( there is a juicer), juice in the fridge, milk, variety of teas and coffee, breakfast provisions. Very well packed. We grumbled (not to them just to each other)a little over having no bbq (realised through reviews though after we got home that they can not for the fire safety, so felt bad for grumbling ) but we found it fine cooking in what is provided. We enjoyed our $180 bottle of veuve cliquot rosè very nice drink. The only thing (after finding out why they cant have a bbq) we thought would be nice is natural australian toiletries, some sensational ones out there. Some have bush scents as well. We have had aussie made natural products in a couple of motels we have stayed in. Molton brown was nice but i dont think it compliments where you are, the aussie bush. Its a small trivial thing and definitely will not stop us from going back. We loved it and recommend to anyone that can afford or want somewhere luxurious peaceful and welcoming to stay. The online photos do not do this retreat any justice, and do need to be experienced to be able to witness the peacefulness, privacy and quality of the pavilions. Everything is well thought out by the owners and every attention to detail has been covered. The spa has incredible views of the valley as does the private pool and king size outdoor day bed. We could picture ourselves staying there forever ! We loved everything about Wild Edge Retreat and Alan was very welcoming and more then happy to help with any requests. The pavilion was awesome well laid out, clean and you couldn't fault a thing. The view from the balcony and spa was amazing especially one morning when we noticed the fog over the mountains. - Secluded Retreat My wife and I stayed at Wild Edge Retreat for two nights in May 2015. What an incredible experience. It's a selcuded retreat hidden away on the top of a mountain with only 4 Pavilions. Your only 40 minutes away from the Pokolbin/Hunter Wineries but it feels like you are miles from nowhere. The Hosts are fantastic, Alan was most welcoming and very helpful. They had the candles lit and the fire ready to go on our arrival and the place smelt wonderful. We stayed in the Whispering Forest Pavilion which was well presented, so clean and included a wood fire, heating, a comfy King size bed and a huge deck overlooking the valley below. Very modern but cosy as well. Foxtel & Wifi are also welcome inclusions.The place is so pieceful. They have Wombats and many birds roaming the retreat. The bed was super comfy and it has a lounge area that overlooks the stunning view. A lovely kitchen too. The deck outside has lounge beds and a barbecue and the most amazing infinity edge pool. Not to mention the king size day bed oh my god! The first night we had the romance package so we went out to the local pub for an he and when we returned it's was ahhhhmazing! So many candles oh goodness it was beautiful. Rose petals on the bed! Soft music and we had arranged the seafood package for dinner, it was Devine all set up beautifully! The following morning we had the breakfast provided. all the breakfast goodies we cooked were supplied and it was yum. That day we lazed around by the pool and for lunch had the ploughman's package. Lovely local cheeses cold meats and breads and salads yum. Then for dinner yes more food we had the BBQ package so it included meats salads breads etc the meat was soooo tender it was amazing. Following morning we still had enough supplies for breakfast. - A truly magical place My partner recently whisked me away for a suprise romantic weekend to propose. From the moment we drove through the gates of Wild Edge Retreat I knew that this place was something very, very special. The views over the bushland and watching the mist rise up in the morning were a highlight. - Breathtaking, private and romantic. We stayed in the Wind Spirit pavilion for our wedding anniversary and we absolutely loved it. We were lucky to get gorgeous weather so spent all our time by the beautiful, private pool. The sunken hydrotherapy tub overlooking the beautiful view is just divine. The pavilion was beautifully clean and we had everything we needed to stay and relax for our whole stat. The day bed by the pool was a great place to relax between swims and just soak up the amazing surroundings. Sunsets are gorgeous and we enjoyed them with some champagne while sitting on the recliners on the deck. Alan was lovely and very helpful and provided beautiful breakfast. We were blown away by the quality of every little thing. From the tea selection, to all the utensils and products in the kitchen. The cutting knives were sharp! That never happens in rented accommodation. The bathroom fit-out is spectacular. Every was amazing and clearly thoughtfully considered.
