Our log fires are stacked and ready for use from early May until the October long weekend. These times may vary depending on the weather.
Nespresso and Twinings
All Pavilions have a Nespresso Creatista automatic coffee machine with a supply of capsules. A selection of Twinings teas are also provided.

Privacy is paramount. Our Pavilions are spaced apart for seclusion, with screened pools/decks and no passing traffic, you can hear yourself think!

Beautiful, Relaxing, The perfect getaway.... My husband and I recently stayed in the wind spirit pavilion which was amazing. The room was spotlessly clean, magnificent mountain views, We loved the 2 person spa bath with the bi-fold doors and The infinity pool was excellent with the day bed beside it, very private and relaxing. Our host Alan was lovely and couldn't be more accommodating we our every need. The BBQ platter was excellent and more than enough for us, The Ploughman's lunch was also excellent, just enough for lunch and the cheese platter was excellent, The romance package was more than we could have asked for with candles every where, the room was stunning. We stayed in Whispering Forest the closest to reception and car parking. The owner Emma, received us late after sun down. We were picked up from our car in a buggy then driven to our pavilion, she even helped with our luggage! The pavilion itself is amazing. Extremely clean, beautiful decor. There were candles and rose petals on arrival. There was a beautiful smell burning from the oil burner and the fire was lit and cosy. It was perfect. The bathroom is extremely modern, duel sinks and a huge two person spa. The tea bag for the spa was lovely and didn't affect my skin (dermatology) opening the bifold windows with the bubbles on was bliss. The shampoo and conditioner smell beautiful and everything is organic. Little luxuries like foxtel and the Bose sound system were great. Easy to use fire with a ton of wood. Comfy lounge and chaise, warm robes, slippers and my favourite rugs. The bed is a little firm for me but loved the goose pillows and doona. The kitchen had the perfect amount of cutlery, dishes. Great quality. Dish washer included! Loved the coffee machine, Tim tams and selection of cereals. Not to mention the fresh oj maker. The serenity from the deck was beautiful, quiet and calming. The day bed is comfy but we didn't stay out too much as it is winter and the sun moves of the deck early. There is a ironing board, torch and a pair of binoculars. The WiFi is solid and you really feel alone and secluded here. - Romantic 30th Birthday Getaway Wild Edge is a truly wonderful and rejuvenating retreat. We had decided to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday differently this year without the extravagant party! - Lovely New Years getaway We stayed here for a couple of nights over NYE in the Earth Song pavilion. It was so lovely, we didn't leave the entire time. We were initially welcomed by Andrew and taken to the accommodation via golf buggy - a fantastic idea to avoid carrying your luggage! The property is really well presented and it is obvious the owners genuinely love what they do. We were given an intro to the pavilion by Andrew as well which was very much appreciated. We have not received this level of personal service anywhere else around the hunter so in this regard wild edge is unique and well above the competition. Old fashioned hospitality you could say! The views and sunsets were amazing. We were very impressed with the attention to detail with the cleanliness both inside and outside the pavilion. The pavilion is decorated beautifully and has everything you will need. Breakfast provisions were good and we had a couple of BBQ's on the deck overlooking a great view. It was a nice surprise to be taken back to the car via buggy again upon departure where we got to meet their lovely doberman as well. We would 100% recommend wild edge retreat to any couple wanting a luxurious getaway, even those with very high expectations. Greeted with such warmth Emma took us to our pavilion and showed us what we needed to know. The ambiance was perfect the fire was lit, as was candles throughout, you instantly feel relaxed. The Breakfast provisions are just perfect, a great coffee machine, even oranges and a juicer if you so desire. A Dyson hairdryer which was pretty cool to test out! Immediately we felt like we could rest and relax and unwind. The view amazing the silence wonderful, perfect!!! honestly cannot fault it in anyway and recommend to anyone needing some serious quiet time - we didn't use the pool (this time) as cooler weather but we will come again. We also booked a massage in room while there which was great, the ladies who came were fantastic. All organised by Emma at our request. - WOW Factor x Infinity A challenge to get here in a regular saloon car. The approach road is well rough in places. Once you are here IT IS WORTH IT! The Pavillion has all you need and more. The fact the sound system is Bose says it all. Whatever there is in and around the Pavillion is QUALITY - a Dyson hairdryer, Molton Brown bath amenities. The view is to die for. The privacy is total. Emma received us and showed us to our pavillion with the skills of Sabine Schmitz around the Nurburgring as she gracefully drove the three foot wide golf buggy along the elevated three foot two inch wide wooden walkway. This is not a place with a WOW factor. It is a place with a WOW factor around every corner. You must bring your own food as there is no local convenience. However, there is ample breakfast stock in the fridge to see you right when you arrive. The provision of more supplies can be arranged. - What a place. My wife and I have recently spent 5 glorious nights of our honeymoon at Wild Edge Retreat and wow, what a place!! I had called an hour out from arrival just to ensure that all was in order for my beautiful wife and the serious romancing which was about to get underway. It was 8pm in the evening and after a slow, seriously dark and dirty trek up the mountain (albeit that this should be expected in the country), we arrived through the gates only to be happily greeted by Alan. Our luggage was loaded aboard a golf buggy and we were then driven a short distance to our luxurious pavilion . Upon entering said pavilion, we were warmly welcomed to the prearranged candles which spread throughout the entire clean, romantic and warmly designed apartment. The apartment itself ( we stayed in Natures Mist) sits high above a valley, looking down over some distant farm land and cattle. There wasn't a person, car, sound or anything else that could have possibly distracted us from our relaxing and harmonious stay. It was total bliss. The bed was a total delight. The pillows were perfect with sheets and a quilt to match... I did however forget to take note and/or ask for the brand and type of pillows! Rookie error for a newlywed I suppose. The attention to detail throughout the place was amazing. We didn't need anything else as the kitchen was fully contained with all utensils and cooking equipment that we required. There was a bbq on the deck which was perfect for us to cook our meats that we bought locally. My wife and I also managed (thanks to great weather) to cook the scrumptious breakfast provisions (that were provided to us daily) on the bbq. The sausages are a must! With respect to the grounds, the staff have done a wonderful job. The gardens are filled with native flowers and plants and are on show via the boardwalks throughout. We managed to catch several cute little wombats getting about along with some possums and amazing birds. The retreat is about 20 mins from the Wollombi Wines vineyard and about 25 from Stonehurst. We had the pleasure of visiting both and there were some cracking wines on offer. In terms of "to do", it is a retreat after all so definitely don't be expecting anything outrageous or on the wilder side of things otherwise be prepared to be disappointed. My advice would be to ensure that you go with great company! Overall, we would say that this place is definitely special. It's exactly what we could have wanted and more, and for the reasonable price tag, it far surpasses most if not all of the high end hotels you would find in a major city. We will be back for sure! - A very special place We booked Wild Edge months before our actual stay and as a result of our hectic working life at present found ourselves counting down the days. Driving into the quaint town of Wollombi, we began to feel a sense of calmness settle over us. We stayed in Wind Spirit lodge, was a bit too cold to use the pool - but I had to jump in anyway. Perfect layout and nothing was an issue. We cooked up a gourmet breaky and also ordered a bbq pack (which lasted two nights - excellent value). Perfectly located a few minutes drive from Wollombi - we cannot wait to go back. We were greeted with warmth and friendliness, and the stress of city life began to almost immediately melt away. No sooner had we parked when we were whisked away on a golf buggy to our pavilion by Emma. She assisted us with our luggage and proceeded to give us a tour of the pavilion. Candles were already aglow, and chill music was playing on the Bose stereo. The pavilion is well laid out and beautifully appointed, and the little details made this a very special place to stay. The breakfast provisions were great and even to the point where oranges were supplied so we could make fresh orange juice each morning using the electric juicer provided. The Nespresso machine was also a nice touch. The pool was amazing, and each afternoon, some of the wildlife would come and say hi. The deck is a beautiful spot to have breakfast, and afternoon wine and cheese with a beautiful view. We had decided to stay put for the entire weekend, even though the Hunter Valley wineries aren't too far away. We self catered our lunch and dinners, and the BBQ made this easy. We could not believe how tranquil this place was. The block out blinds made a sleep in easy. One morning of our stay, we had a dual in-house massage on the deck - being able to open the doors to the deck to allow fresh air and chill music to flow was great. Upon departure, Tamara came to collect us with the buggy and she was also very friendly. This is certainly one of the best places we have stayed and have already recommended it to friends. - Spectacular Retreat We first discovered Wild Edge Retreat in 2017 and stayed in Whispering Forest. We loved our stay so much that we returned in 2018 to find new hosts and some new additions which elevated our stay even more! When we arrived for check-in, the gates opened before we pressed the intercom button and, before we had even parked, we could see the golf cart coming out from Reception to greet us. Emma hopped off and introduced herself, making us feel so welcome, as she helped us unload the car. As it was nearing 40 degrees, she wanted to get us to our pavilion as quickly as possible and we could not believe the thought and care that went into our arrival; air-con was already cooling the property, candles had been lit + fragrance oil was diffusing, a bottle of bubbles was on ice with a lovely 'welcome back' card, the fridge and cupboards were stocked - everything was immaculate. Emma walked us through the need-to knows before reminding us they were only a phone call away, then left us to unpack and settle in. We opted to stay in Wind Spirit this time around and it surpassed our already high expectations. The views from the pavilion, spa bath, balcony, and infinity pool are spectacular. Seeing the valley change throughout the day, especially at sunrise and sunset, is beautiful. The infinity pool was our main reason for booking a mid-summer getaway and we swam at least five times a day. From first thing in the morning to after the stars came out at night, the solar-heated pool ensured that we were never too chilly in the water. My favourite time was just before sunset - the valley looks like a postcard and we even saw a family of kangaroos hop by on our last night! The unsealed road to the property is a little bit of an adventure for our 2WD but the work done since we last stayed has definitely improved the drive up from Wollombi town centre. The coffee machine + selection of pods is excellent and the juicer + oranges meant I enjoyed fresh OJ every morning for breakfast. The Wi-Fi, cable television, barbecue, and new bathroom products were all excellent touches and we made use of it all. We stayed for three nights but I could have honestly stayed a week, it was SO relaxing, tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. The hosts have done wonderfully in their transition, they put such care and consideration into the property and their attention to detail meant that we wanted for nothing for our entire stay. - A truly magical place My partner recently whisked me away for a suprise romantic weekend to propose. From the moment we drove through the gates of Wild Edge Retreat I knew that this place was something very, very special. We are always on the look out for romantic and relaxing places to spend a weekend and this is by far the best place we have ever stayed. We stayed in the Nature's Mist pavillion which was exceptional. The pavillion was spotless and the design of the accomodation incorporates everything needed for a romantic getaway. From the pool with daybed, to the 2 person sized spa and the fireplace absolutely everything you could possibly want is included. The views over the bushland and watching the mist rise up in the morning were a highlight. This was a belated anniversary weekend away, I did my research and found Wild Edge Retreat. It was just what we wanted and needed. The cabin we stayed in was just amazing, private, our own pool and day bed. Beautiful balcony with an amazing view, there was nothing not to like. When we arrived about a 100 candles were burning, the attention to detail from the kitchen to the bathroom is just amazing. - Second to None Wind Song Pavillion, March 2013. Spotlessly clean, excellent service, romantic, and couldn't ask for more. If you want a romantic breakaway, this is the place to go. Plunge pool, candles, bose sound system, sunken bath with opening bi-folds and lovely views. The host Alan was great and couldn't be more accommodating. It is quite isolated and a dirt road into the property on the last 2.5km, only 4 pavillions, but if you plan it, there is nothing else you need. We even organised a helicopter through Slattery Charters to take us on a wine tasting hop - so didnt use the car the two/three days we were there. Preordered food, and took a few bits and pieces of our own. Went out by day, and stayed in by late afternoon/night to soak up the atmosphere. We even organised a tandem massage which was done in our pavillion. We also ordered a cheese platter, it was presented perfectly and lasted our entire stay. Every attention to detail was to first class presentation, with the towels having a branch from the garden, a complimentary bottle of local champagne, to warm crusty bread, balsamic and olive, and chocolates served with our BBQ platter. The breakfast provisions were more than substantial for our stay. The boys have thought of everything! The pavilion was immaculate with not one ounce of dust or dirt. We had a super relaxing time and enjoyed the peace, tranquility and luxury just soaking up the stunning views and sunsets. The bathroom was AMAZING with the sunken spa bath and large rainhead shower, we sat watching the sunset for hours.
