Fresh linens including sheets, towels and pool towels are provided for your stay. Our Guest linens & towels are professionally laundered after each stay.

Each Pavilion has a fully equipped kitchenette with a ceramic cooktop, microwave oven, full-size fridge, electric frypan, juicer, toaster and dishwasher.
Log Fires (seasonal)
Our log fires are stacked and ready for use from early May until the October long weekend. These times may vary depending on the weather.
Nespresso and Twinings
All Pavilions have a Nespresso Creatista automatic coffee machine with a supply of capsules. A selection of Twinings teas are also provided.

Privacy is paramount. Our Pavilions are spaced apart for seclusion, with screened pools/decks and no passing traffic, you can hear yourself think!

Hideaway in the hills I just spent a lovely weekend for my 30th birthday at Wild Edge Retreat with my husband. We stayed in the Nature's Mist pavillion, which overlooked the beautiful valley. The pavillion was impeccably tidy and clean for a place in the middle of the trees. And the attention to detail was impressive. We found we brought things along that we didn't need (frypan, utensils, etc). Don't bother, they have it all covered. The breakfast provisions were scrumptious and it was no problem to ask for more if you need. It's clear the idea of this place is peace and quiet while being close to nature. Andrew (and Ruby) were very welcoming and helpful when we arrived and explained the features of the room. Beyond that, we had the space to ourselves and barely saw anyone in the whole retreat. The seclusion was lovely and apt for the location. Overall Wild Edge is for people who enjoy luxury accommodation with bush surroundings and a relaxing atmosphere. Hubby and I have just returned this week from the most wonderful few days at Wild Edge Retreat at Wollombi. This is the best place to celebrate a romantic Wedding Anniversary or that special occasion. It is so peaceful, so private, so thoroughly clean, so comfortable … and takes your breath away with its most amazing views. The food provided for breakfast is so ample in its portions that we also used some of it for an evening meal. All the internal features are high end (such as the Dyson hair dryer etc), but the views are what make it such a wonderful place to just come and relax! I love the scenic drive here - it’s such a beautiful part of the country and not far from Sydney. The hostess Emma was so welcoming, and although all 4 Pavilions were booked during our stay, we never saw another person, such is the clever design and layout of the property. Just the sounds of nature and wildlife … and the most amazing view of the brilliant stars at night! I also loved the fact that each pavilion has its own private swimming pool. And I also love the fact that it is a large property that is gated, so even though we had the privacy of feeling we were the only ones here, it was comforting to know that although we were way out in the bush, someone else was on the property should there ever be a need. 10 year wedding anniversary Firstly this place is beautiful, quiet and decorated really well. I dont really do reveiws often but always read them, however I've felt compelled to this time as I would have loved some warning myself. I can honestly say my husband and I have never felt more unwelcomed! When we arrived at reception our host immediatly started complaining about lack of water as they are on tank water, then moved onto difficult guests.When shown to our pavillion it got worse, each instruction on how to use or find things was followed by a story of what other guests had done leaving us with the impression that gests are the bain in there lives! Stories of people emptying and refilling the spa, turning the aircon on too low, lighting the fire in summer. On and on it went after just escaping three young children for the first time ever since having kids this was the last thing we needed! We managed to laugh it off however after he had left, unfortunately though the lack of tact continued the next afternoon. After going on a wine tour (Wollombi wine tours, recommend them) we return to find they had serviced the pavillion, something we were not expecting and perhaps a pleasant suprise untill we saw the letter on the table. Now I will admit we were smoking the night before somthing we do whilst trying to take ourselves back 9 years prior to kids, I had read on their website to put water in ash trays which we did do, we also lit citranella candels to ward off the mozzies. Our stay corresponded with a heat wave, so I do understand the bush fire concern as we live in amomgst the bush even more than the place is itself. The letter explaining this concern would have been fairly well recived by us except for the fact it contained the threat of penaties for arson, mentioning fines of up to $100,000 and years of imprisonment!! Really, happy 10 yrs to you both! When I looked back on the experience I realised that the first impression I recived with the phone call from our 'host' which was patronising to say the least, was just the begining of feeling like we had been wecomed to somone's place only to then be continuously reminded what an inconvinience we were being!read moreread lessSherene N29-11-2014Second stay- wonderful long weekend This was our second stay at Wild Edge, this time a 3 night ‘Babymoon’ to relax and enjoy the long weekend. I only have good things to say about this place. The warm greeting, the cleanliness and presentation of the pavilion and the wonderful view from the balcony all add up to a great stay. Everything is thought of here. The breakfast provisions were excellent and we had packed food for lunches and dinners and prepared quite a few great meals and found that everything we needed for cooking was provided in the kitchen. I loved relaxing in the spa with the windows open and candles lit and the pool was warm, but not too hot- great way to spend a couple of warm afternoons floating around in privacy (especially because I am very pregnant!). We stayed in ‘Nature’s Mist’ on this occasion and have previously stayed in the other pool villa. Both are lovely, and had everything we needed for a great long weekend. - A truly magical place My partner recently whisked me away for a suprise romantic weekend to propose. From the moment we drove through the gates of Wild Edge Retreat I knew that this place was something very, very special. We are always on the look out for romantic and relaxing places to spend a weekend and this is by far the best place we have ever stayed. We stayed in the Nature's Mist pavillion which was exceptional. The pavillion was spotless and the design of the accomodation incorporates everything needed for a romantic getaway. From the pool with daybed, to the 2 person sized spa and the fireplace absolutely everything you could possibly want is included. The views over the bushland and watching the mist rise up in the morning were a highlight. - A very special place We booked Wild Edge months before our actual stay and as a result of our hectic working life at present found ourselves counting down the days. Driving into the quaint town of Wollombi, we began to feel a sense of calmness settle over us. After purchasing some delicious sparkling wine from the friendly staff at Wollombi winery we made our way up the private road to the "pearly gates" of the retreat. Alan, our host, offered us an inviting and warm greeting before shuttling our luggage to the Natures Mist pavilion. - Words can not describe! Seven letters to describe..P E R F E C T. Such a majestical adventure up into the mountains of Wollombi, once we arrived we were privately chaffered to our pavilion...Earth Song. We found ourselves sitting in the spa looking out to the amazing views whilst we sipped on a local champagne delivered by Emma herself! - Romamce and Luxury Wild Edge was a secluded retreat for our couples weekend. We stayed in the Earth Song pavilion and the view was breathtaking. The décor, ambience, facilities and service was of a 5 star quality Waking to the mist drifting thru the mountains and the bird song was uplifting and very special.. Our hosts could not have been more accomadating and discreet. Walking in to candles, aromatherapy and music set the tone for our weekend. I am still overwhelmed as I recall our stay ,from the booking and arrangements, to the welcome, to the location, to the pristine condition of the pavilion, to the 6 star service, to the farewell by Alan. - Tranquility! Relaxing! Perfect! Clean! Amazing! We were booked for three nights at another tourist retreat in the Hunter, but after two nights we couldn't face a third. We were driving through Wollombi when we saw the Wild Edge Retreat sign and decided to drive up the road to see if they had availability. Fortunately there was one Pavilion available. We were immediately impressed by the tranquility on arrival and the outstanding service. Considering ours was a last minute booking, everything was well above our expectation. Wild Edge Retreat was and remains a very special place in our hearts. Although the previous owners to Mick and Emma were entirely forgettable, all I can say is that I am very proud to know that both of them (Mick and Emma) have not only kept up the very high standards we ourselves did, but improved on them. Until recently my wife and I had not returned to the property. We were actually married in the Earth Song Pavilion in 2008. It's been a great trip down memory lane. If you are after something very special and different, somewhat secluded and want to escape the crazy world we currently find ourselves living in, you won't find better hosts or facilities in this part of the Hunter. - Secluded Retreat My wife and I stayed at Wild Edge Retreat for two nights in May 2015. What an incredible experience. It's a selcuded retreat hidden away on the top of a mountain with only 4 Pavilions. Your only 40 minutes away from the Pokolbin/Hunter Wineries but it feels like you are miles from nowhere. The Hosts are fantastic, Alan was most welcoming and very helpful. They had the candles lit and the fire ready to go on our arrival and the place smelt wonderful. We stayed in the Whispering Forest Pavilion which was well presented, so clean and included a wood fire, heating, a comfy King size bed and a huge deck overlooking the valley below. Very modern but cosy as well. Foxtel & Wifi are also welcome inclusions.The place is so pieceful. They have Wombats and many birds roaming the retreat. We stayed for one night only in Wispering Forest over the Easter break. Firstly it was great to find a place that tool bookings for 1 night only during Easter - that's actually how we found it, by filtering on Wot If. Not the cheapest place available in the hunter, but what a difference from all the other options. This place is no hotel. There are no communal areas, and you don't even have to share your view with anyone else! Uninterrupted bliss. When we arrived in the afternoon we were warmly welcomed by the owner, who have us a very nice introduction to Wild Edge and our Spa Pavillion. The balance was just right - enough information to enable us to enjoy our stay, without it being overpowering or intrusive in any way. Very friendly and personable. From then we were left to our own devices to enjoy the tranquility. The Pavillion was extremely well appointed - it looked like it had been recently renovated. The bed was so comfortable - best night's sleep we've had in ages! The breakfast provisions were excellent - everything we needed to set ourselves up for the day. The road leading up to Wild Edge is a dirt road, quite steep in places, although we were in a VW Golf with 2 bikes on the roof and had no problems whatsoever. - I never wanted to leave! Opening the door to Whispering Pines Pavilion - queue beautiful, relaxing music and candle light. My breath was taken away. We spent four nights in this luxurious retreat. The view is spectacular, the accommodation is luxurious and spotless, everything has been taken care of with such care and heart. Thoughtful hot cross buns and Easter eggs had been left for us, when we thought the delicious fresh ready to cook breakfast in the fridge was enough! We had a spa on our final night and could look out through the double windows onto the deck and up to the stars. Simply stunning. From the moment we arrived it was magical!
The pavilion, Nature's Mist, was warm with the fire already started and candles lit was truly beautiful. We ran out of kindling and found more (after a day out) appear at the the door (yipee!) on the second night. Emma & Mick were wonderful hosts, but most important left Guests alone. Thank you for a much needed break. We will be back.
