Our Private Pool & Spa Pavilions

I’m not exaggerating when I say this is my favourite place in the world. My husband and I have looked high and low for the best long weekend destinations and tested out many in various countries, and we’ve stopped looking. This is it! We’ve been 3 times now and are already planning the 4th.A beautiful property with every single thing you could need. A stunning private pool. A truly awe inspiring view straight into the gum trees. Total privacy, you don’t see a single other human being unless you want to. And if you do need anything that isn’t already in your pavilion, Emma and Mick are just a phone call away. A true retreat from the real world.Like Emma says, on the way to your pavilion down the boardwalk, you can actually feel your blood pressure dropping. And once you’ve had a spa bath, enjoyed some of Wild Edge’s own bubbles and wrapped up in your dressing gown, you remember what being relaxed actually feels like!I talk about this place with basically anyone I’ve ever been able to squeeze it into conversation with, but I also secretly want to keep it a secret all for myself! And I think that’s when you know you’ve got something special.

Why fly to an when we have luxury on our door step? What can I say - my partner surprised me on a weekend away - I had no idea where I was going and we ended up in the Hunter Valley and then a couple of nights at the Wild Edge Retreat. We were blown away to think accommodation like this was so close to home. The private rooms were beautiful, total modern luxury. We stayed in the Wind Spirit Pavilion having our own private infinity edge pool and spa the pictures on the website don't due this Pavilion justice you have to come and experience it to truly appreciate its beauty. We highly recommend everyone who wants some time out with the ultimate indulgence. We believe everyone should come and experience this at least once in a life time regardless of your budget. The owners are fantastic and will do anything to make your experience truly unforgettable.

First Class, absolute luxury in paradise My husband and I came to Wild Edge for 2 nights after our wedding to relax and reflect on the busy week we had. I had always dreamt of visiting Wild Edge and finally found the perfect reason to visit. Alan and Andrew are the perfect hosts, so warm, welcoming and friendly, and we loved meeting Ruby. We arrived off the main road up a dirt road wondering where we were going in the bush land to be greeted by a secluded paradise. Upon check in we were informed of the DVDs available to borrow and we were whisked away via golf cart to our home Earth Song. The doors were opened and my jaw dropped, the pavilion we stayed in was breathtaking, it was so cosy and warm feeling with lovely touches of candles lit and relaxing music. We were provided with a tour of the facilities and advised the BBQ dinner package would be brought over at 6pm. We also ordered a cheese platter, it was presented perfectly and lasted our entire stay. Every attention to detail was to first class presentation, with the towels having a branch from the garden, a complimentary bottle of local champagne, to warm crusty bread, balsamic and olive, and chocolates served with our BBQ platter. The breakfast provisions were more than substantial for our stay. The boys have thought of everything! The pavilion was immaculate with not one ounce of dust or dirt. We had a super relaxing time and enjoyed the peace, tranquility and luxury just soaking up the stunning views and sunsets. The bathroom was AMAZING with the sunken spa bath and large rainhead shower, we sat watching the sunset for hours. You have a fabulous business, and we can't wait to come back and try another pavilion, perhaps in the winter time to enjoy the fireplace! You won't want to leave when you get here!! Thanks for an unforgettable stay, we will cherish this time until hopefully our next anniversary!! We picked a couple of extra wines for our time away, the food was enough for breakfast and dinner and snacks for two days. Well done Alan and Andrew, you have taken luxury to the next level!

Amazing place to unwind. My partner and I spent a week at Wild Edge Retreat in the 'natures mist pavilion'. It was magical walking into the pavillion seeing it in immaculate condition, a beautiful insense was burning and to beautifully calm music welcomed our arrival. We had arrived in paradise. The room has a beautiful view and a comfy bed. The pool was great for the hot weather and taking a break from swimming whilst reading a book on the day bed was very relaxing. Wish we didn't have to leave. Thanks to Andrew and Alan for being such great hosts.

Heaven on Earth Travelling a long distance and driving through the dirt and narrow road is pretty hard. But once you drive up to the retreat that's where you were see the most beautiful nature view that god created. I call "Heaven on Earth". I love everything about this place the beautiful room, pool, tub, scenery, smell of nature breeze, essential oil, relaxing music, ruby the dog , deck, day-bed, fireplace, kitchen and the staff. 2nights was short i wish i could stay there forever 💜. Me and my partner have the most quality time together no wifi, no phone or disturb n also no social media time for us. We get to bond our love together and communicate more we get to cook together,do spa and watch movie, see night sky n stars. Every morning i wake up with a peaceful and relaxing mind. Amazing, Relaxing and Peaceful Hubby and I spent 5 wonderful nights in “Wind Spirit” to celebrate our 7th Wedding Anniversary. From the time we booked, arrived, stayed and left, our hosts Emma & Mick were exceptional! They were so attentive and their service was second to none. Definitely on the list of must do again! "How's the serenity" We recently had the pleasure of celebrating our 30th wedding at Wild Edge Retreat. We're pretty sure that there is no other place on this earth where we could feel so pampered and at peace. As we walked into 'Nature's Mist', we were greeted by peaceful music, candle light and the most beautiful view over the valley and farmland below. Alan gave us time to recover from the 'WOW' factor and then walked us through the pavilion providing us with every detail needed to ensure that our stay was comfortable and uneventful. It was immaculately appointed. The food platters that we ordered were beautiful and contained everything that we needed and more!.....What more could you ask for than a lovely cup of plunger coffee with a Tim Tam while reclining on the lounge on the out door day bed. We felt privileged to stay at this most beautiful part of the world. Thank you Alan! Mary and Bruce

Perfect spot to get away from it all We've just returned from 2 nights at Whispering Forest pavilion and would have to agree with all of the positive reviews that we've read here. The setting is fantastic if you want to really get away from it all with little/ no mobile reception and a drive up a steep unsealed dirt track to reach the property. We loved the welcoming music and scented oil burning on arrival, the huge spa bath overlooking the deck and one of the most comfortable beds that we've ever slept in. If we had to come up with one criticism, it would be the sofa not being the most comfortable for lounging around, reading papers/ watching movies. But that's a very minor criticism. Well worth a visit.

Magnificent We arrived just before 8pm, we walked along the boardwalk it was beautiful with different coloured lights in the wood work. Alan meet us at reception & drove us down to our villa, walking into the villa was breathtaking, candles lit, soft music & a beautiful smell wafting throughout the room. The rooms were clean & no expense was spared from the toiletries to the cooking equipment all top quality. The breakfast provions were plenty. We stayed in the wind spirit villa we didn't have to leave nor did we see anyone. The pool was excellent & the day bed was comfy laying there listing to music. We saw plenty of birds even a wombat! Beautiful place to stay cannot recommend it enough.

On our drive to wild edge retreat you could feel the bush surrounds doing it’s magic for a restful break.Wild Edge Retreat was an absolute delight, quiet, magical scenery from our room, with exquisite attention to detail throughout our pavilion. Oh, the serenity !! A perfect stay at Wind Spirit ! From booking to our arrival, Emma/Mick (and Wild Edge team) are the perfect hosts! Emma arranged for golf cart to transfer our luggage to Wind Spirit Pavillon. On arrival, a beautiful candle lit room with light music - was such a romantic ambiance from start to end .. Simply fabulous!! We had the best time !! Relaxed and enjoyed our surroundings to just chill. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend, taking a dip in the infinity pool or just admire a beautiful sunset /Wollombi Valley views, and not to see another human or car during your getaway, then THIS is the perfect place to relax /recharge! First getaway in 3 years due to travel restrictions, Wild Edge is a perfect seclude /private couples stay, approx. 2 hours away from Sydney to this beautiful quiet, secluded destination. As the road leading up to Wild Edge retreat is a fairly narrow dirt road. Recommend bringing what you need for your stay as we didn’t leave until our check out and so glad we did 🙂 Tip: once you check out, takes about 10-15mins - visit wollombi village for a coffee/bevy or Devonshire tea at Myrtle & Stone, local jam (from Gailles stall set up) or visit artwork gallery (run by volunteer staff). Accommodation - Everything was perfect! Outdoor - big balcony with 2 day lounges, little gas Weber Q, king size cabana with infinity pool - all we needed for a relaxing stay ! Indoors - oozes charm and modern decor at same time, comfy king bed, pillows (menu even available, if required), spa bath and shower pressure great, fluffy towels, Foxtel channels, fireplace (perfect for winter) and open plan room - spotless and cleaner than a 5 star hotel. As soon as we arrived, all breakfast supplies, sooo plentiful and fresh produce - loved it and better than a brekky buffet lol - everything you need, latest kitchen high-end appliances for coffee, fresh OJ and cooking. I also loved Dyson hairdryer ! Thanks so much Emma and Mike for the warm welcome and for looking after us like royalty. Amazing stay, beautiful part of the 🌎 - can’t wait to go back ! What a place. My wife and I have recently spent 5 glorious nights of our honeymoon at Wild Edge Retreat and wow, what a place!! I had called an hour out from arrival just to ensure that all was in order for my beautiful wife and the serious romancing which was about to get underway. It was 8pm in the evening and after a slow, seriously dark and dirty trek up the mountain (albeit that this should be expected in the country), we arrived through the gates only to be happily greeted by Alan. Our luggage was loaded aboard a golf buggy and we were then driven a short distance to our luxurious pavilion . Upon entering said pavilion, we were warmly welcomed to the prearranged candles which spread throughout the entire clean, romantic and warmly designed apartment. The apartment itself ( we stayed in Natures Mist) sits high above a valley, looking down over some distant farm land and cattle. There wasn't a person, car, sound or anything else that could have possibly distracted us from our relaxing and harmonious stay. It was total bliss. The bed was a total delight. The pillows were perfect with sheets and a quilt to match... I did however forget to take note and/or ask for the brand and type of pillows! Rookie error for a newlywed I suppose. The attention to detail throughout the place was amazing. We didn't need anything else as the kitchen was fully contained with all utensils and cooking equipment that we required. There was a bbq on the deck which was perfect for us to cook our meats that we bought locally. My wife and I also managed (thanks to great weather) to cook the scrumptious breakfast provisions (that were provided to us daily) on the bbq. The sausages are a must! With respect to the grounds, the staff have done a wonderful job. The gardens are filled with native flowers and plants and are on show via the boardwalks throughout. We managed to catch several cute little wombats getting about along with some possums and amazing birds. The retreat is about 20 mins from the Wollombi Wines vineyard and about 25 from Stonehurst. We had the pleasure of visiting both and there were some cracking wines on offer. In terms of "to do", it is a retreat after all so definitely don't be expecting anything outrageous or on the wilder side of things otherwise be prepared to be disappointed. My advice would be to ensure that you go with great company! Overall, we would say that this place is definitely special. It's exactly what we could have wanted and more, and for the reasonable price tag, it far surpasses most if not all of the high end hotels you would find in a major city. We will be back for sure! Amazing in every way! Me and my partner recently stayed in the Natures Mist Pavilion for the weekend. Words cannot describe how amazing this place is the drive to get there, the great and friendly service, the views, the wildlife and most of all the privacy. Everything was perfect! We didn't leave the pavilion at all. I've honestly never felt so relaxed this place is the perfect couples getaway so romantic. We are definitely coming back again. Perfect place for a getaway weekend. My partner and I booked the earth song pavilion for 3 nights (14/2-17/2), as soon as we drove up the private road and arrived at the gate we knew it would be a peaceful weekend. After we walked in to reception and met Alan he helped us carry our bags to the pavilion and gave us a rundown on the kitchen, spa and DVD player. The pavilion was awesome well laid out, clean and you couldn't fault a thing. The view from the balcony and spa was amazing especially one morning when we noticed the fog over the mountains. Alan went out of this way to make sure we had the best weekend and truly is the best host in the industry. Will definitely be staying again and will be recommending it to anyone looking to stay in the hunter region.

Beautiful, Relaxing, The perfect getaway.... My husband and I recently stayed in the wind spirit pavilion which was amazing. The room was spotlessly clean, magnificent mountain views, We loved the 2 person spa bath with the bi-fold doors and The infinity pool was excellent with the day bed beside it, very private and relaxing. Our host Alan was lovely and couldn't be more accommodating we our every need. The BBQ platter was excellent and more than enough for us, The Ploughman's lunch was also excellent, just enough for lunch and the cheese platter was excellent, The romance package was more than we could have asked for with candles every where, the room was stunning. Words can not describe the experience that you will have staying at the retreat. We have already recommended the retreat to our friends and family and We couldn't have asked for a better getaway than this. We will definitely be back but for longer next time... 25th Birthday Surprise I was treated to a beautiful weekend away for my 25th birthday. I was grinning from ear to ear the moment we reached the red entry gates. And it never stopped. We had the best weekend with stunning views and absolutely great service. The pavilion we stayed in was called Earth Song and it was so pretty. It was the attention to detail we loved the most. Everything was thought of we couldn’t fault anything about the room or the stay.

Very good place to hang out for a weekend away from the real world.

If only it were forever Just recently home from our fantastic weekend at Wild Edge. From the moment we had put through our initial enquiry to Alan to the moment we were leaving the whole experience has been absolutely fantastic. Gorgeous views, amazingly clean accommodation, friendly service and very stress free environment. We decided to pack all food we would need for the three night stay we were there for and not to venture off to try local places and we were extremely pleased... We were so happy there we didn't want to have to leave! Cannot give Wild Edge enough praise, photos and descriptions on their website do not do it justice it is even better than what you can believe. We really cannot wait for our next visit to Wild Edge thank you so much Alan we really had a great time!

A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE HAVEN OF PEACE AND TRANQUILITY IN THE HUNTER REGIONBooked this stay as a little birthday surprise for my husband and he says it’s the best staycation we’ve had so far!Booking online was fast and efficient. I had a little query re laundry, sent a message via their website and promptly got a response via email. Apart from the confirmation email received upon booking, there is another email that was sent a week prior to our stay containing all pertinent information including driving instructions.A portion of the road leading up to the retreat location was unsealed. Thus, the drive up there was quite rough and uncomfortable. Nothing unexpected as this was clearly noted on the email. But upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Emma, we heard the chirping of the birds and saw how beautiful the place is, so we thought it was all worth it.Our pavilion (Earth Song) was well-stocked and is extremely clean. We were greeted with some lovely tealight candles, a sweet little birthday cake for my husband, a personalized welcome letter with a beautiful relaxing music on the background. The breakfast provisions were extremely generous (see photos) and we loved the little snacks provided as well that went perfectly with our coffee/tea. My personal favorite was the Citrus Press! I love my OJ freshly squeezed for me for breakfast!The picturesque view from the deck accompanied with the soft chirping of the birds was just the lovely break that we needed from our usual daily routine. We loved soaking ourselves in the warm pool and how we ended our day with a nice warm spa bath.Overall, I think it’s the little personal touches all throughout our stay that made this one particularly stood out from all the rest we’ve had before. From Emma personally greeting us when we arrived helping us with our stuff, the personalized letter, the little cake, setting the mood in the room (candles, music) for when we arrive, the little notes reminding us to just call when we need anything or extra provision, up to the recommendations on where to stop on the way back home!I cannot thank you enough Emma & Mick for helping me make this staycation a truly special and memorable one for my husband! We just cannot wait to be back!TIPS:- Albeit breakfast provisions were extremely generous, bring enough food & bev items that’ll last for the duration of your stay as there are no shops within walking distance to the retreat. Nearest grocery as per the pre-stay email is 35mins drive from there.- There is no laundry facility onsite so it’s helpful to bring a laundry bag for used clothes- No need to bring anything to fully enjoy the spa bath. I actually bought a lush bubble bar but apparently, I can’t use it there. That wasn’t a problem though because a beautiful bath bag infusion, as well as some bath foam is already provided. Honestly, I think it even smelled better than what I bought. LOL

Highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway. Perfect place to kick back and relax and enjoy your surroundings. Emma and Mick were really hospitable, throwing in some extra oysters on the seafood platter and a delicious birthday cake to boot. Exactly the Break We Needed Stayed in the Wind Spirit villa at Wild Edge Retreat for my girlfriend’s 30th, and it was exceptional from start to finish. Emma greeted us on arrival and was genuinely helpful throughout our stay. She surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake, which was a great touch. The villa is even better than the photos. The pool is completely private and has an unreal outlook, the bed is one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, and the spa overlooking the mountains is something you could sit in for hours. Breakfast was fresh, generous, and far better than what most places offer. If anything, two nights wasn’t long enough — it’s the kind of place you settle into instantly and don’t want to leave. Huge thanks to Emma for making the weekend smooth and memorable. We’ll definitely be back.

Breathtaking escape! Wild Edge is everything you'd hope it would be and more! Unlike large resorts, this beautiful sanctuary is personal, private & immaculate, so clean that you feel like no one has ever stayed before you - what a welcome change! From the minute we arrived, Alan took care of our every need, I mentioned I was Coeliac and upon arrival I discovered that both my husband and myself had been thought of with the inclusion of beautiful gluten free breakfast provisions for myself and other lovely goodies for him. Wonderful retreat where relaxation and unwinding After a great day of sightseeing around Wollombi and surrounding vineyards, we were looking to spend the rest of the weekend to unwind and relax. Wild Edge Retreat was certainly the place for us !!! With spectacular views during day and night, beautiful ambience and a wonderfully appointed pavilion (we stayed in Earth Song) we really didn't want to leave. Fantastic stay First stayed at wild edge 12 years ago, back again for our wedding anniversary and we were suitably impressed. The new owners have really enhanced an already great product and even the most discerning traveller would be hard pushed to find any faults. Bliss !! This was our fifth time at Wildedge Retreat and it just keeps getting better and better!! Our favourite pavilion is Earth Song the view is spectacular ❤️The bed is THE most comfortable I’ve ever slept on ( including my own) and that’s saying something. The choice and quality of the food provisions are amazing - you literally couldn’t think of anything else you would need. Emma is so welcoming and makes you feel at home. Most amazing Paradise stay From the minute we arrived we felt welcomed! We just spent 3 nights in the Natures Pavilion and one word ... WOW! The pavilion was very spacious, very clean, and had all the necessities you could require and more! We didn't have to leave the Pavilion at all. Cooking facilities were great, bed very comfy, comfy lounge, Foxtel, and of course the private pool! Amazing! With only a few hour drive from Sydney, we had a fantastic, quiet and relaxing few days away. Thank you for an amazing stay, see you next year 🙂 Hana & Mark.

From the sumptuous decor, to the beautiful surrounds...we could not have asked for a better place to celebrate. Form the moment we arrived, we knew this was something different. Everything was perfect, the grounds, the pavilion, the owners....not a single complaint. Genuinely my favourite place on the surface of the earth If you could reach into our heads and pull our all of the things that would make our perfect holiday, Wild Edge would be it. A beautiful location with an incredible uninterrupted view of the bush/jungle, a pavilion so private that you feel like the only people around for miles, a private pool, a beautiful and large outdoor deck for eating, yoga and playing cards on the day bed, a bbq for outdoor cooking every morning and night, an incredible spa bath and tropical shower, indigenous toiletries, absolutely lovely hosts who absolutely get what you need on a trip like this and provide everything that make it special as well as all of the essentials, and the kind of animals wandering around that you want to see (kangaroos on the drive up, goannas on site) but no huge spiders?! (how did they do that?!) Seriously though, we're lucky to have stayed in some amazing places and I think the best way of describing Wild Edge is to say that it is the best holiday we've ever been on. And it's 'only' a staycation 2 hours from home. And we didn't have to fly. And it beats our luxury honeymoon in Bali. Sorry Bali. Thank you so much Emma and Mick for such a wonderful time, we loved every second and didn't want to leave! You made my 30th birthday one to remember for sure!

Just spent the first leg of our honeymoon here and couldn’t be happier we chose Wild Edge. Natures Mist is a great room for some privacy and some fun in the pool. All amenities were top notch and the service was fantastic. You really don’t need to bring anything extra as everything is provided. Can’t wait to come back here for our wedding anniversary!

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RETREAT EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! WOW! WOW! 10 STAR RETREAT! This place is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed at! Emma & Mick, well done! You guys have nailed it, you are both great at what you do! We were welcomed at the top of the ridge by Emma, she was so friendly upon arrival. she helped us with our luggage in her buggy and she made us feel so welcome! As we approached the pavilion we knew this was a special place. From the moment we entered the sanctuary we were captured by the views at the Natures Mist. We stayed here for 3 nights over the Easter long weekend! What a top location! Perfectly nestled amongst the tree canopies, with the most tranquil setting...its a natures birds paradise..The pavilion was immaculate, with attention to detail, the gorgeous spa bath with the most amazing views ever! The fridge was stocked up with yummy fresh breakfast and juices.. we had the most comfortable 3 nights sleep in years.. We were even lucky to spot a Lyre bird outside our pavilion that sang his bird chorus for over 1 hour while we were having our bbq on the deck!! what a treat!! I recommend this place to anyone wanting a 10 star bush retreat! You wont be disappointed The only downside was leaving this place! We wish we could stay here forever!! thanks Emma & Mick!!!!! BEAUTIFUL RETREAT AND STAFF This place is absolutely incredible. The moment we arrived Mick and Emma were super welcoming and efficient. The villa was amazing with candles lit throughout and aircon on as it was a hot very hot day. The villa was super spacious and impeccably clean. My husband and I both agreed hands down the most well appointed retreat we’ve been to, they’ve thought of everything! We had stunning views over Wollombi valley and felt like we were the only people at the retreat during our stay as it it is all so private. We will definitely be back!

Anniversary bliss My wife and I try and stay somewhere nice and different every year for our anniversary. THIS IS IT !!! This is the best place we've ever stayed at. Emma was awesome and delightful to deal with. A cup of coffee outside in the morning with the Lyre bird in full voice, was amazing. We'll be back in summer to enjoy the pool.
